Lanta Orchid Nursery is open to visitors for its third season since 01 November 2001

Lanta Orchid Nursery is a combination of orchid farm and floral exhibition. Illustrating all stages of orchid farming, from the nurturing of the tiny seeds through to the final blossoming, the exhibition features full-colour photographs of the breeding process and explanations in English, Swedish and German to help visitors understand the complicated life cycle of the orchid family.

The nursery has produced some remarkable hybrids with large and long-lasting flowers, but concentrates mostly on the reproduction of about 80 different species (out of more than 900) that are native to Thailand. A limited number of plants - grown from seeds at the nursery - are available for sale.

Lanta Orchid Nursery is located on Lanta Long Beach, close to Lanta Long Beach Bungalows and Lanta Resotel. It can be accessed from either the beach or the main road. Open daily from 09:00 to 17:00 from 01 November to 15 April, this is the nursery's third season open to the public. To assist in covering the costs of electricity, water and maintenance, an entrance fee of 30 baht per adult and 20 baht per child is charged.
